The Victory Parade in Tunis

With long stop Hill secured, the Allies were able to enter Tunis. They declared victory on the 13th of May and took more than 250,000 POWs. The city in North Africa allowed the Allies to invade the Italian island of Sicily. Peter took part in this in the summer of 1943. It was critically important to the course of World War II,. But the memories of the campaign weighed heavily over the years.
