The Importance of Sound and Vibration
The ancient Semitic languages felt that sound and vibration was really much more important. So when one intones these words, particular words, you achieve what in the Eastern traditions is what's called a mantra effect. And this is very important. Why? Well, not just to get into an altered state because it puts one in contact with the breath, with the vibration of the person who said the words. When one prays, you could say Jesus' prayer, with a sense of devotion, a sense of heart,. One doesn't even need to intone them correctly, because your heart will tune you in.
