What's the Difference Between Superior and Superior Parathyroids?

The superior parathyroids are posterior and lateral to the recurrent laryngeal nerve. The inferior glands are more variable in terms of their position. Vitamin D is ingested or synthesized and it's a precursor form. It is then hydroxylated at the 25 position in the liver and then at the one position in the kidney. And that's where it becomes its most active form.
