AI Alignment Research Is in Kind of Tough Shape
A lot of AI alignment research today is not really pointed at the most important problems we might face. I expect that governments eventually will be playing a very large role in how things happen with advanced AI systems whenever that happens. People interested in this topic who want to help would be going into government, he says.
