Thabbat's Theory of Trepidation
Thabbat's theory of trepidation was mathematically dense, but successfully modelled accession and recession. It could reproduce the variability in the rate of precession to a high degree of accuracy. Albatani rejected Thabbat’s theory on pragmatic grounds, arguing that there simply weren't sufficient observations to justify such an elaborate theory. His most important original accomplishment was demonstrating that annular eclipse is a possible.
