What if the United States Turned That Off?
After the first word war, when we really were struggling economically, there was one particular base called keppel harbour in in singapore. It wasn't large enough to deal with merchant ships and warships. Various offshore islands were thought of but this would cost an arm and leg. And so a base was looked oin singapor, which they would have to build. Only problem is that the site that was chosen was actually only one mile away from the southern shore of jehore in malaya. So this place, the singapore naval base, i believe, some peril from the outset.
