How I Moved on From Citibank
I was doing well at city. I was making more money than I ever thought I would make as a completely terrible student in college. So eventually I capitulated and quit so that was in March of 1999 that we started what was then actually called StatArb Inc. My brother was a prop trader at Goldman and had previously launched a reasonably good very small hedge fund before trade works. We decided it made sense to try to monetize the technology a different way if we weren't going to do it with software, online licensing services then maybe we would do it as a hedge fund. After 9-11 really the fintech business especially in New York really just dried up completely. And so
