How Did You Get Interested in Russia?
i got interested in russia from high school debate. I don't think i would have supported that idea a couple of years later, but i didn't know better back then. So the year the soviet union collapsed, i was at moscow state university and became quite interested in under what conditions do regimes collapse? That's been a part of my academic research ever since then. And you've been kind of thinking about those same testing that hypothesis for the last three or four decades.
