Is the Road a Meaningless Novel?
"My only hope is for eternal nothingness, and i hope it with all my heart," he says. "The death of god is never permanent, but always foreshadows a rise." He adds that in these novels, we may not be treated to the rise. We get given this all consuming darkness in the road,. But the protagonists we are following, the father and son, they are the good guys. They wouldn't eat others even when starving, yet they have a conversation about this.
