The central figure in the bolshevik transition from a militant minority faction to something like a popular political party was leon trotsky. Trotsky and his theory permanent revolution neatly alined with just about everything lenin was saying, writes Frida Ghitis. The two sides had spent 15 years lobbing pot shots at each other in various emigree newspapers - but both eventually buried the hatchet.
