German Catholics pay for the Catholic Church, because they pay in their tax. The greatest anti-Nazi votes came from Catholic areas of Germany. There's a real weird stuff going on there. But what Tyler saying is true, that this idea of a calling, right, that used to be a religious idea, an American Protestantism is very much part of the American pioneer spirit.
