How to Measure Racism and Bias in the Product Experience
The experience of booking a home, it is one of the most important corps parts of the entire platform itself. And so because of this import we decided to focus our product work first on preventing and addressing discrimination and bias within the booking flow. We worked with a number of civil rights groups, privacy groups and academics over two years to refine a solution that ultimately generates anonymized demographic data. In may, we were really honored and honestly humbled when this work was recognized by the text spotlight at the harvard kennedy schools belfer centre. Later this year, we're going to be publishing our first lighthouse annual report.
