Socrates in the city started out as a small ladies macrame club in 1972. We take our name from Socrates, who famously said that the unexamined life is not worth living and then he blew his brains out in an alley. "We like to ask the big questions about what we say we call life God and other small topics," says founder David Berlinsky.
