I think we have touches of evidence that maybe some animals have some element of qualia. I can easily think of ways that that might not be right, but beggars can't be choosers. But in between those extremes, there's a huge range of positions that I think are reasonable. You said about evidence that a tiny piece of evidence in regard to dogs. And we know that this is because they have been subjected to artificial selection for precisely the attribute of looking as though they have feelings. This is a very weak argument.
