The Importance of Christie's Plays

There are two strains of playwriting and Christie's work. There are the plays we all know, which are by no means a monolith. And then there are the plays you just identified, the Mary West McCott-ish plays. I felt like reading your book, you were at times wistful for the sort of playwright Christie could have been if she had been allowed to expand on this second strain of plays. Is that fair of me to say? Yeah, I think that's a very fair analysis. She could have been quite a substantial writer of domestic drama. It's a shame that she wasn't.
