DSM-1 - Same-Sex Attraction

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual or DSM was originally crafted in 1953. The original diagnosis for same-sex attraction at that point was actually called sociopathic personality disturbance. Freudian anthropology sees homosexuality, however, as a disorder. Same-sex attraction needs treatment; the pre-1970s scientific community wanted to figure it out scientifically.
