The Underwater Locator Beacon Problem
Underwater search began in late June after analysis of flight three, 70 satellite communications were refined. Australia, china and the royal navy provided a ship each to help find the beacon. The battery is supposed to die around april seventh so they knew they had to try to find it quickly. There was an error in computer data, so the battery problem went unnoticed. So it mayht not have even been making any pings. It might not, but who knows? It's hard to say.
