Is the Rectal Exam a Good Test for Caudal Quinus Syndrome?
The digital rectal exam primarily tests the S2 to S4 function. If you do feel what you think is reduced tone or even no tone, that can be concerning. A study published in 2021 found that bilateral leg pain, sensory loss and a dermatomal pattern were all suggestive of caudal quinus syndrome.
