CHAPTER

The Origins of Hello and Ahoy

Alexander Bell and Thomas Edison were having a little war at the beginning of the phone creation about what should be the way that you get someone's attention on the other line. Alexander Bell who had created a similar technology is Edison but for a competing group he thought Ahoy made more sense so people used to say Ahoy when they entered the phone.
