The Story of Tarkissi

Tarkissi, the king wants to marry a kind and beautiful girl like you. After some time had passed, the king had to leave the palace to go and fight a war. While he was away, the women in the palace bully Tarkissi for they were very jealous of herbeautiful face. In despair, she spoke to a little bird and asked him to fly to the king and tell him of her suffering. The bird flew straight to theKing and sang in his ear. Overjoyed, he forgot all about Giza's reward. He and TarkISSi wed, living happily, though not quite ever after.
