Control is a very diffen thing to control, as we're talking about here. I think this is a good place to segua to a more empirical aspect of you have one of the examples you talked about in your review paper. This artificial selection experiment on running capacity in rats that i believe was done by coke an briton starting about ten years ago. And they had different lines of rats, and they selected some of them to be essentially marathon runners, kind of high endurance runners, and others to be couch potatoes.
