The social breakdown and violence of this era was so significant that it had knock on effects, with the clergy basically giving it a green light. We've got bandits, rebel armies, assassinations, you name it. And as I hinted at last episode, our sources also suggest that Harrower, that noble killing, Norman beheading rebel leader, was either already back in England and killing people,. or he was on a ship heading to England with a plan to kill some people. It was an every bloody hand on deck situation in England.
