The Disdain of Moral Realism
In the Phil Paper Survey philosophers were asked about their views on morality and moral realism. David Wheeler says he's despair that moral realism is as popular as it is. He doesn't think there are good arguments for it or that it seems intuitive. The best explanation may be if a whole bunch of people use faulty methods then they could tend to converge on certain sorts of conclusions, writes Wheeler. "I suspect one factor that could drive philosophical consensus is simply social pressure"
