The Importance of Trusting God

There's a prayer that I read most days, if not every day, that Thomas Merton wrote. The part of it that has always stuck with me the most is he says, God, I don't always know what to do, but I think the fact that I want to please you, please is you. If that can be the place that we follow Jesus from, then it kind of just takes all of the nonsense, ridiculous ways that we've come to measure like our obedience and our values.
