Is There a Central Authority That Says We Hereby Confer Upon You This Check Mark?

I just love this because it's such an elegant solution. And there's no central authority that says we hereby confer upon you this check mark, right? It's here's the evidence I present that I am me or that talk Python is talk Python or whatever. And that gets verified and people can decide how much they trust that. Nobody should trust my server about the verified links. They all need to do their own little verification step. Also, when you look at the activity cues, there's a whole lot of activity. At least just checking these verified links from each server to make sure that they're back. But I do think it's a beautifully simple and elegant way of solving this
