Liszt's Influence on the Music Academy

Liszt was always proud of his hungarian roots, often dressing up in traditional hungarian costume on stage. He incorporated a number of musical motifs from hungary into his works. Works such as the second hungarian rhapsody have been transporting listeners to the plains of that country since the 18 forties. In 18 75 he was appointed the first president of the new music academy in the hungarian capital.
