The Leningrad Symphony
The NBC Symphony Orchestra will perform Dimitri Shostakovich's Leningrad Symphony. The first three movements were set to paper during last winter's siege of Leningrad, amid the thunder of Nazi artillery and the lurid glare of Luftwaffe incendiary bombs. It is only fitting that this special broadcast should be dedicated to the cause of Russian war relief incorporated. We are especially privileged to have with it.
