The Influence of Christianity on the World
The influence of Christianity on the world more generally has been profound too. But particularly in a country like Britain that has been Christian for a millennium and more, the saturating effects are so profound that we don't recognize them. The temptation is to say our democracy, you know, we derive it from ancient Athens. We don't. It's something that the word democracy is taken up by Aristotle or Cicero. And so they're coloring it with their assumptions and we have inherited that.
