The Effects of VR Illusions on Chronic Pain Patients
The effects of the illusion start happening almost instantaneously. The question for chronic pain patients is the effects on the actual pain. We have patients who feel effects again within seconds to minutes and others that even after four sessions they don't really feel a discernible clear effect yet. So what might be happening in the brains of chronic pain patients when they're using the VR illusions? It's still a question that we would need to examine.
