In August 1791 we get the burning of plantations and sabotaging of the economic system, isn't it? People rising up and saying, well, we're going to break the field system that keeps us in slave. But of course, plantations are also homes. And this is the paradox of plantation economies and plantation life. It looks like black people engaging in violence against white people, but they protect themselves too.
