What Is a Bank Run?

U.S. regulators took over Silicon Valley Bank, or SVB, after it collapsed on Friday morning. It's actually the second biggest failure ever since Washington Mutual in September of 2008. Over the weekend, panic spread among investors and economists who feared the failure could set off a national financial crisis.
