Ice is closing in on the ship. Shackleton orders them to rest in shifts. We can't let her sink. As each hour passes, the men are weaker and tired but none of them complain. They love the ship too they run the pumps below to the ice outside. But still, the ice keeps coming. At ten p m, it attacks from the side. The sound of timbers breaking stopd the men in their tracks. At midnight, it closes in and starts to spoolst decks buckle and beams crack. It's early morning on november fourteenth, two thousand eight. In a few hours, the three men will begin the most challenging trip any of them
