Gone Like Yesterday by Janelle Williams
Gone Like Yesterday by Janelle Williams is the story of Zara, a college prep coach who helps high school seniors get into college. She works for 75 bucks an hour to help write her essay and she volunteers. One of the reasons she does it is when she sees a cluster of gypsy moths in the backseat of this Uber car they're singing songs to her. When Zara's brother disappears back in Atlanta they go on a journey together with the Uber driver as well because he's got a car obviously to take them from New York to Atlanta. And they learn the story of the Moss and the story of their respective families in ways that are deeply transformative.
