The Importance of Reading Classics

As a teenager, did you read any of the counter cultural things like Jack Kerouac or Henry Miller? I tried to read William Burrows because being in Sheffield at that time. And so I went to the library and got a naked lunch out and maybe read about 40 pages. He sounds great. His name's Alan Garner. There's one called Redshift which was nominated for the Booker prize this year. But that's his latest book, which is called T.E.K.L.R. Walker. Yeah. G.A.R. has never heard of him, but he sounds great.
