Is Shaftesbury a Rationalist?
The metaphysical status of beauty is different in that it is in the object for shaftesbury and for the other two, well, there's something in the object that properly elicits feelings in us. The thing that carries through these three though, is this, you know, how it was categorized in the stanford article as inner sense theory. And then hume just kind o takes hutchison and runs with it, and is more concerned with like whether competent judges judge it to be so.
