Electric vehicles were originally pushed out of the market. They were concerned about whether or not a battery could get you on a long distance trip. Oil prices at that time, we we found oil in texas, oil was suddenly, it just got really cheap. People decided they didn't want to have cars that just drove to work or to the market or around town.
