How to Intubate an Asthmatic After Intubation

Most complications of intubating an asthmatic happen in the immediate post-intubation period. Hypotension should respond to fluid boluses and this decreased amount of manual bagging or ventilator rate. Positive pressure ventilation actually worsens your dynamic hyperinflation, especially if the ventilator settings are aimed at normal capnea. Bad side point of care ultrasound can be used to make that diagnosis.
