Sign Language, Bible Translation Standards and Best Practices
Test the translation as extensively as possible in the receptor community to ensure that it communicates accurately, clearly and naturally. At least 50 per cent of the team must always be deaf. To sign naturally is a minimum requirement for a sign language translation. Being deaf does not always imply that the person comes from a sign language background,. therefore they would not be a native signer.
