Chancy Garrett is a graduate student in behavioral neuroscience at OHSU. His lab focuses on alcoholism and treatments, genetics and behavior. He's involved with published the 2021 paper synaptic effects of IL-1 beta and CRF in the central amygdala after protracted alcohol abstinence in male rhesus macaques. In the US more than 140,000 people each year die from excessive alcohol use it's the third leading cause of death.

I’m at the airport and there are hundreds of brain scientists everywhere. So I swallowed my dignity/anxiety and approached strangers about the neuroscience they do.
