curby prel: Tragedy of commens is a very plain, simple idea of human nature. Eleanor ostrom's work was based on the times that she saw starvation and deprivation. She did not believe that top down control can work. And similarly for astrom, she believed in the capacity of these people of communities to sort of co operate.
