The History of Integralism
An integralist is someone who believes that the superiority of the church's mission has consequences for how politics should work. An integralist holds three claims, two of which most Christians can accept: The first is that God has ordained the state to promote the common good of the community. A second one is thatGod has ordained the church to pursue the spiritual common good and preach the gospel outside of that. And so where the state's policies bear on spiritual affairs, the church has a kind of sovereignty there.
