All Wars Happen Because Non Philosophers Want Things That Aren't Essential

In the fido, socrates says that non philosophers need things that aren't essential. And he says in the fido,. that's why all wars happen. All wars happen because people don't live within their needs. That idea is not expressed in the republic. It's often the fido where he explicitly says, ye, all wars and conflicts happen because non philosophers want things like good coffee and sugar and tea and opium and so forth. So i think that's hanging over this city of pigs figure as a humble kind of poor, aeschetic kind of figure. No one wants to live like that. Let's just accept that people do want nice food and nice clothing
