The Disadvantages of Committee Hearings
Congress is passing less legislation, and it's more likely that the legislation that's passed are these huge omnibus bills. And there's a number of reasons why I think that that hurts the democratic process. Congress needs to learn about a lot of different subtopics in order to be legislating effectively. It's a body of non-experts that need to legislate on very specific issues.
