How Did the Solar System Form?

The sun was labeled alongside many other stars that had telltale signatures indicating a high proportion of heavy elements in their atmospheres population one. Two stars on the other hand have a far lower proportion of metals in general but if one learns this as a student of astrophysics one is immediately struck by the omission of stars with absolutely zero evidence of metals in their spectra. The splitting up of light into spectra reveals what the light consists of and so when we look at stars we do not find a continuous spectra in other words we don't find all the colors of the rainbow but something rather different and somewhat more complex sometimes missing dark bands.
