The Elephantina Documents

Documents from elephantina are both papayri and ostrich up short texts written on broken pieces of pottery which have survived from a judeian colony. They give us a snapshot of a community of ordinary people that were living their ordinary lives in the fifth century before the common era. The reason why these documents have survived is because egypt is a desert and so we can have a papayri that that survived in this arid environment. We don't have any biblical texts amongst these documents nor do we have references to these biblical texts.
