The main character has survived with his kids and his grandkids, and they are all this. The alien robot who decides to take on a Japanese appearance does Japanese tea ceremonies. His son is half Chinese, half Japanese. This son has married a girl who must be European in some kind. So their kid is going to be Chinese, part Japanese, part something. That is the future that we don't see in three body in a way.
