Is There a Sweet Spot for Complexity?

I often find that the easiest way for me to try and find, if you like, that representative sweet spot is to start with something that approaches the full game as muchas a starting point. And then begin to take out elements of either complexity, variability or whatever, as and then just find the point at which then it feels as if there's enough there for exploration. So i almost like by taking away elements, you then start to see the focus, start a sort of shift to the area that we're looking to explore. I find i oks, much better that way than the other way round, which would be a kind of more of a linear approach to the additional complexity.
