The Importance of Tolerance in Text Editors
John Sutter: My general purpose text editor is still text mate because, you know, again, once it's launched, the performance is fine. A long time ago, he did a brief experiment where he tried out whatever like the two new-ish text editors at the time were. He came out of it thinking, yeah, these are fine. If I had to switch away from text mate, this would be fine. And then he went back to text mate and liked it better. It's not perfect. It has a lot of problems. But we're finding out that none of us have changed, myself included.
