CHAPTER

Jim Jones and the Campus Socialists

While Jim was away at college in Bloomington, his interest in social and racial justice led him to connect with the campus socialists. This was a period when socialist and communist were again very serious and disciplined people they had to be. America during the Cold War is an unfriendly environment for socialist and communist. The event was under surveillance by the federal government; soon afterward, Jim's mother was questioned about her son's activities.
