Python Versioning in a Mono Repository?

The Python team is working on a new poetry plugin for the language. They were asked what their thoughts are on versioning with mono repos and how you deploy them. The answer was that it would be easy to switch from one repo to another as long as they all had the same API. It's also an advantage of having separate repositories, not just your part of the system.
